Hey All,

Despite the dreary weather in Sacramento (60’s and rain in June?), Old Soul has managed to keep moving along on many fronts this week.

In the roastery, we cupped a lot of promising pre shipments from El Salvador and Peru as well as a few rare reserves from Kenya and Ethiopia. Expect to see a few new coffee’s in our line up soon!

In the cafes, we will be debuting our new specially designed capp and espresso cups this week. Very classic looking and practical, just how we like it.

On a more personal note, we have a few great announcements…Tim’s daughter graduated from college yesterday…Way to go Alex!

As well, Old Soul has teamed up with the Reading Partner’s organization and Stand Up, to become the first business to “adopt” an elementarty school in Sacramento. With our “Sacramento Has Soul” program, we will be putting together a team of volunteers and assisting the students at Peter Burnett Elementary in raising their reading aptitude. Hey All,

Old Soul is in the middle of a very, very good day…The sun is shining in Nor Cal, everything is blooming and we’ve had some significant meetings that should lead to big things for both Sacramento and Old Soul.

The day started with cupping a new batch of Kenya coffee samples that held a lot of possibilities. As an agricultural product, coffee is seasonal and now is the time when the best of the best African’s and Central American’s start rolling in…We have been busy slurping and spitting and you will start seeing the fruits of our labors on the shelves within the next two months…Being a coffee dork is a wonderful thing!!

After getting cracked out on some amazing coffee, we had a productive meeting with the newly appointed GM of all food and beverage operations at the soon to be opened new Airport terminal in Sacramento. As most of you know, Old Soul will have a location in the new terminal and we are proud to report that things are looking very promising on every level…Stay tuned for more details and some exciting news in the next few weeks…I’d say more but they might kill me and I like living!!

After our Airport meet and greet we moved on to something very near and dear to our hearts. In another step toward our goal of launching our “Sacramento Has Soul” volunteer effort we met with the COO of Reading Partners. The meeting was a huge step and I think we’re onto something with our focus on early childhood education and literacy. Once again stay tuned for a big announcement soon and start getting excited and ready to help Sacramento…The time is coming soon…

Lastly, as I’m typing I’m sitting in our Old Soul at 40 Acres location in Oak Park and listening to live music from Tess and Hip Trash…It would not be an understatement to say they are the best band playing in Sacramento tonight and it’s free!!! Life is good…Jason

In more specific terms, has/ does Old Soul ever see you in the 4+ years it has been in business? What follows is a partial working list of who hasn’t…

I think we all get the point…so I say to you, Jerry Brown and Mr. Obama…what r u waiting for and what are you drinking? I’d like to know the answer to that question…I think it would tell us a lot about the person and you can’t spin that…

In less than 3 hours, Old Soul, the little and local alley based small business in the heart of  Midtown will be launching our online store thru the great efforts of Lorico Media. With our online store, some 300 million plus people who live in America will have the ability to get their hands on great hand crafted coffee beans from Sacramento. That is cool!!

Obviously, we probably will not get orders from all 300+ million people, but as the line from Dumb and Dumber goes…”so your saying there’s still a chance”…I say amen…

On other news, I just want to put an end to the rumors that Old Soul will be following in the foot steps of the “Great Green Wave” and starting Frappucinno Happy Hours…not happening…sorry friends…I know, very, very sad…It’s like kicking a puppy…what can I say? We’re lame…
